About the lead artist

John Flanagan Willanski is married with a young daughter. He lives in Adelaide, where he works as an illustrator and across artforms. He has a background in both graphic design and storytelling. In 2014, John was was selected for the Australia Council's Sync Disability Leadership and in 2015 received an Australia Council grant and a Richard Llewellyn Arts and Disability grant to develop the SP Project, a series of works exploring his transition from the medical to the social model of disability.

Project conceived by Gaelle Mellis 

Gaelle is an award-winning artist working as a designer for theatre, dance and events. Her designs have toured to the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia, New Zealand and the United States. She has worked in theatre, dance, circus, opera, disability arts, visual arts and installation. She loves to collaborate and enthuse others with the possibilities of equality, diversity, and creative change. Gaelle is the Creative at Access2Arts.
